The Problem

The work report already holds everything: hours, materials, work done, the customer's signature. It is written on a paper form left in the van, or in a spreadsheet each crew has adapted its own way. Between the job carried out and the data needed to cost and invoice it sits a manual step nobody has ever managed to remove.

The report travels slower than the work

The sheet comes back to the office at the end of the week, sometimes at the end of the month, at best as a photo in a chat. Until it is keyed in, the job stays open, the cost report is incomplete and the invoice does not go out — for work finished days ago.

Every crew fills it in its own way

Different pre-printed forms per department, spreadsheets with columns added over the years, free-text lines, times written as "8:30–17 + travel", material abbreviations only their author understands. No fixed template survives that variety for long.
